Glad tidings to reshape the world
At last a week when we can rejoice in a glimpse of good news and good sense. The most important is the ceasefire accepted between India and Pakistan, this averting catastrophic loss of life and q derailment to progress. Both, the Indian leaders and the Pakistani government have shown great vision by agreeing to a cessation of warlike bombings.
However, in order to make this move meaningful, there must be a clear repelling of all terrorist activity and the harming of innocent civilians must be condemned strongly. Terrorist activity is like holding a tiger by the tail. You think that you are in charge but if you let go of the tiger, it will bite your head off. I pray that the two countries which are both great friends of Bahrain should do only what is good for their people’s future.
The other good news was the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first American head of the Catholic world and Vatican City. In many ways, he had the confidence of Pope Francis, his predecessor, who brought him into the limelight and gave him the position and space to grow his influence as a sort of preparation to this supreme spiritual post. The world is hopeful that this will bring unity, amity and peace to humanity.
