Dolce and Gabbana launches its Hijab and Abaya collection

Italian fashion label Dolce and Gabbana has now targeted the Arab and Muslim costumers by launching its high-end line of hijab and abaya collection.

The fashion biggie debuted the collection on Style.com/Arabia this week, that consisted of hijab and abayas of neutral colours made of georgette and satin weave charmeuse.

According to fashionista.com,  a few pieces feature lush lace trims or prints from the Italian fashion label's spring 2016 collection, including lemons, daisies and polka dots.

By debuting the new collection, the fashion label has joined the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Moda Operandi, catering the Muslim market, by introducing hijabs, blouses and caftans, particularly during Ramadan.

According to a report by Thomson Reuters, spending on Muslim clothing and footwear has been steadily increasing over the years, which is touted to reach $484 billion by 2019, which means designers and retailers looking to provide for this demand will only continue to grow.
