Heralding its solidarity to the ‘National Tree Week’ initiative launched by the Government of Bahrain, New Millennium School organized a series of eco-friendly activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and the importance of trees in achieving a sustainable future. The week-long celebration, held from 12th to 16th October, 2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and the staff.
The week began with special assemblies highlighting the theme of the week — “Plant a Tree, Plant a Future.” Students presented speeches, poems, and skits emphasizing the need to conserve nature and combat climate change. The highlight of the event was a tree plantation drive on the school campus, where saplings of native species were planted by students and faculty members.
Various activities such as poster-making, essay writing, and environment quiz competitions were also conducted to engage students creatively and intellectually. The school’s Environment Club took the lead in spreading awareness about waste segregation, composting, and the benefits of maintaining green surroundings.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma, appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to become “guardians of the green.” The event concluded with a pledge to protect and nurture trees for a cleaner, greener planet.
Chairman, Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director, Mrs Geeta Pillai appreciated the school’s enthusiastic participation in the Tree Plantation Drive saying that such initiatives not only fosters environmental consciousness but also strengthens the students’ sense of responsibility towards nature.
