Buffer Zone lifts Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup

Buffer Zone clinched the Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup yesterday in the feature event at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.

The nine-year-old gelding won the richest event of the day, offering BD5,000 in total prize money being contested over a 1,200-metre straight, for owners Victorious and trainer Fawzi Nass, with jockey Stephane Ladjadj in the saddle.

Buffer Zone won ahead of runner-up Devaste, competing for Al Mohamediya Racing, Fawzi Nass and Rossa Ryan; while Ocean Star came third for Al Afoo Racing, Mohammed Hasan and Soufiane Saadi.

Yesterday’s action at REHC featured an eight-race card with each offering a Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup.

The third race, which was the second-richest event of the day with a BD4,000 prize, Vegas Jack claimed the winner’s trophy for Al Mohamediya Racing and Fawzi Nass, ridden by Neil Callan.

Vegas Jack took first place after 1,600m, with Metahorse as runner-up for Al Afoo Racing, Mohammed Hasan and Soufiane Saadi; while Notions came third for Victorious, Fawzi Nass and Stephane Ladjadj.

Meanwhile, the Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup in race seven was won by The Boy Wonder for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Mia Childs; while Raahy lifted the cup in race six competing for Husain And Abbas Aqeel Hasan and Jaber Ramadhan, with Lee Newman in the saddle.

In race five, Lamie Jee triumphed for Al Adiyat Racing and AM Smith, with Newman the triumphant jockey.

In the fourth race, Fleet Admiral took the win and lifted the Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup for Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Fawzi Nass and Stephane Ladjadj.

The Bapco Energies Horseracing Cup in race two was claimed by Amwaj for Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim and Haider Ebrahim, saddled by Ebrahim Nader.

In race one, Al Krush 1786 won for owners Al Roudha and trainer Hussain Aldailami, ridden by jockey Adnan Jaffar. Yesterday’s meeting was the 23rd of the national horseracing season at REHC.
