Mansouri, Hodaikulieva win U-14 tennis titles

Saudi Arabia’s Hamza Al-Mansouri and Turkmenistan’s Nazli Hodaikulieva were crowned singles champions as the first week of the Asian Development Tennis Championship for Under-14 players concluded in Bahrain, organisers said.
Top seed Al-Mansouri secured the boys’ singles title with a straight-sets victory over Iraq’s Hassan Ali Hatem Al-Ghrayari, winning 6-2, 7-5.
In the girls’ final, top seed Hodaikulieva staged a comeback after losing the opening set to Jordan’s Aya Sofia Gokashao before clinching the title 0-6, 6-1, 6-3. In doubles, Al-Mansouri teamed up with fellow Saudi Elias Al-Ghafli to claim the boys’ title with a 7-6(2), 6-4 win over Jordan’s Omar Istanbully and Ryan Kawar.
Turkmenistan’s Hodaikulieva and partner Ishankuliyeva captured the girls’ doubles crown after defeating Lebanon’s Maria El and Maryam Kamiraldin 6-3, 7-5. The tournament continues with second-week matches beginning in Bahrain, with finals scheduled after the completion of both weeks of competition.
