Abu Dhabi Set for Three-Way Title Showdown at 2025 Formula One Finale
The 2025 Formula One World Drivers' Championship will be decided this weekend under the lights of Yas Marina Circuit, with three drivers entering the final race with a chance to claim the title.
Max Verstappen’s dramatic win in Qatar has tightened the championship fight, putting him just 12 points behind leader Lando Norris. Verstappen now has 396 points, while Norris leads with 408 after finishing fourth in Lusail. Oscar Piastri, who started on pole in Qatar, sits 18 points behind Norris.
This is the first time three drivers arrive in Abu Dhabi with the title still undecided, and the fourth time the UAE capital hosts a championship decider — the last being in 2021.
Verstappen, who is chasing his fifth world title, has dominated at Yas Marina in recent years, winning four of the last five races. Norris broke that streak with a victory in 2024. With only 16 points separating the top three and 25 points available in the final race, fans can expect one of the most thrilling conclusions in F1 history.
As excitement builds, organisers Ethara have announced new entertainment additions, aiming to make the 2025 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix the region’s standout mega-event.
Ethara CEO Saif Al Noaimi said, “This is the first three-way F1 title battle since 2010, and we’ve created a race weekend worthy of the occasion, with headline concerts, extended fan access and entertainment across the city.”
More Fan Access at Yas Marina
The race weekend will offer expanded opportunities for fans to get closer to the action. For the first time, two public Pit Lane Walks will be held on Thursday, December 4, giving four-day ticket holders a chance to see team preparations up close. Both sessions also include a track walk on the iconic circuit.
Attendance for the Pit Lane Walk is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
In another new feature, additional grandstand gates will open after the race on Sunday, December 7, allowing all fans to gather under the podium for the post-race celebrations and watch the new world champion crowned.
Tickets That Unlock the City
Multi-day ticket holders will enjoy complimentary entry to top attractions across Abu Dhabi, including Yas Island theme parks, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, and new venues in the Saadiyat Cultural District.
This year’s inclusions also feature teamLab Phenomena and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. The Zayed National Museum is set to open on December 3, adding another highlight just before the Grand Prix begins.
Entertainment Across Yas Island
Yas Island will be transformed with four nights of major concerts as part of the Yasalam After-Race series, featuring performances by Benson Boone, Elyanna, Post Malone, Metallica, and Katy Perry. Official after-parties will feature artists including Idris Elba, Keinemusik and Calvin Harris.
Restaurants, hotels, and venues across Abu Dhabi will host special events, reinforcing the Grand Prix’s reputation as the region's biggest entertainment weekend.
Fans can manage tickets, book Pit Lane Walk access and receive live updates through the Abu Dhabi GP app.
