Bahrain wrapped up their group stage campaign yesterday with a 27–33 loss to Saudi Arabia in Group A of the boys’ handball competition at Umm Alhassam Hall A. It was a strong day of handball action overall, with the United Arab Emirates defeating Thailand 38–24 to open proceedings, followed by Jordan overcoming Hong Kong, China 22–15. In Group B, China cruised past Kazakhstan 41–26, while Kuwait sealed a 24–19 win over Iran to round out the afternoon session.

In the day’s final match, Saudi Arabia built an eight-goal lead by halftime, going into the break 17–9 ahead of Bahrain. The hosts responded well in the second half, scoring 18 goals, but could not overturn the deficit as Saudi Arabia held firm to take the win. Ali Jadeed and Mohammed Tarrada stood out for Bahrain, scoring five and six goals respectively.

Ahmed Abdulla added four more, while Ahmed Eid and Abuthar Yateem each netted three. Both teams had already confirmed their spots in the semifinals before the match. Bahrain will face Kuwait tomorrow at 7 PM, while Saudi Arabia take on China in the other semifinal at 5 PM.
