Bahrain’s senior national football team will play two friendlies in Morocco during the October FIFA international window. The Reds are scheduled to face hosts Morocco on 9 October in Rabat, with kick-off at 8pm local time. Three days later, they will meet Egypt in Mohammedia on 12 October.
Both games are being staged under the invitation of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, which confirmed hosting arrangements to the Bahrain Football Association. The fixtures were originally planned to be held in Bahrain, with Egypt visiting for two matches, but the schedule shifted after Morocco extended the invitation.
For head coach Dragan Talajic, the pair of friendlies provide an important opportunity to test his squad against top African opposition. Morocco were 2022 World Cup semi-finalists, while Egypt are seven-time African champions. Bahrain will then turn their focus to November’s Arab Cup qualifier against Djibouti, which they must win to book their place in Group D alongside Algeria, Iraq, and either Lebanon or Sudan.
