Lionel Messi to Play Cricket with Indian Legends

Mumbai might witness a once-in-a-lifetime sporting moment this December, as Argentine football legend Lionel Messi is reportedly set to play an exhibition cricket match at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
The seven-a-side match, scheduled for December 14, could see Messi share the field with some of India’s biggest cricketing stars, including Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.
Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami in the USA’s Major League Soccer, will be visiting India on a promotional tour later this year. According to Indian media, a leading event management company has already approached the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to reserve the stadium for the unique sporting spectacle.
“Messi will be at Wankhede on December 14. He is likely to play a cricket match, too, with former and current cricketers. The organisers will share a full schedule once everything is finalised,” an MCA source told the media.
