Bahrain launches fourth edition of Sports Games

The General Sports Authority, following directives from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa—Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee—launched the fourth edition of the Sports Games 2025 yesterday.
Held at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Complex in Isa Sports City, the event drew a spirited turnout, with presidents of sports federations and national clubs joining officials from government bodies and the private sector.
Dr. Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar, the General Sports Authority’s Executive Director, spoke about Sheikh Khalid’s guidance for this edition and how it builds on the notable success of past iterations. “The growing commitment from club and federation leaders is proof we’re on the right path,” noting the initiative’s aim to strengthen ties within Bahrain’s sports community.
The event began with approximately 80 participants split into four teams, each named after a key chapter in Bahrain’s history.
