St Chris set to host summit on ‘Google for Education’

St Christopher’s school will be hosting the EdTechTeam Google for Education Summit in Saar Campus on March 23 and 24.

Experts will be coming to Bahrain with tips and guidance on how to use Google for Education tools effectively.

This is a really interesting way to learn about how technology can be used to make lessons fun, while benefitting students of all ages. Educators at last year’s event enjoyed testing the latest apps out themselves - for example taking journeys around the world with Google Expeditions!

This event is open to educators across the whole community (Schools, Universities and other training professionals are all welcome). The role of Ed-Tech (Education Technology) is becoming increasingly pivotal in the re-design of our education system, and ensuring that we equip our students to be ‘future- ready’. That’s not to say that apps, technology and devices will ever replace great teachers but when these tools are combined with a sound pedagogical approach, it creates powerful opportunities that make learning authentic and relevant.

It is not uncommon to find teachers who fear technology or struggle to see how they can adopt this within their practice. All good teachers have the desire to improve but they need time and guidance (from fellow educators) so they can start to engage with this new and exciting Ed-Tech era.

The Summit Experience involves two days of inspiring keynote speakers, personalised hands-on breakout sessions and a high-energy demo slam to empower teachers and leaders in the digital age. The event is led by Educators, not by salespeople, who are willing to share excellent pedagogical practice, supported by technology.
