British School of Bahrain beach clean-up trip
Manama : British School of Bahrain (BSB) Year 4 students popped down to Nurana Island with trash bags in their hands to clean up the beach. Equipped with gloves and bin liners, the children rolled up their sleeves and did their bit for the local environment. They spent 45 minutes picking up rubbish scattered all over the beach. Although it wasn’t spotless when they finished, it was definitely a lot cleaner. This is the third year running now, that Year 4 have carried out this initiative, as part of their current unit in Humanities lessons, in which they have been learning all about ‘Improving the Environment’. The cleanliness of the beach is something the children feel passionate about and have discussed during lessons, with a particular focus on how it impacts animals and their habitats.
Hopefully, with more eco-friendly awareness, everyone in Bahrain will start to look after our beautiful beaches, they said.
