The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) hosted an interactive virtual seminar in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women to introduce the national gender balance observatory: www.scwstats.bh.

The seminar was delivered by Maha Abdulla Sabt, the Director of Women’s Information Center at the Supreme Council for Women and was attended by many Tamkeen employees across different departments.

The national gender balance observatory serves as the official data source for all information related to gender balance in the Kingdom. It monitors the effectiveness of efforts to bridge the gap and strengthen the inclusion of Bahraini women while also measuring local, regional, and international competitiveness rates.

The observatory provides decision makers and researchers with a comprehensive national database that has the most up-to-date information and indicators around women’s national participation and gender balance.

The observatory is a nationwide project that is updated regularly in collaboration with the relevant government entities. The data is collected within six main sectors: population, education, family stability, quality of life, economic participation and decision making.

This webinar comes as part of a series of virtual seminars held by the Business & Sector Intelligence Unit at Tamkeen to introduce employees to the latest local and global economic trends and updates.
