The Conference Board launches activities in Bahrain
The Conference Board of the Gulf Economic and Commercial Research Center announced the launch of its activities in Bahrain yesterday. The centre focuses on providing decision-makers and the business sector with unique indicators and economic and commercial research.
The launch event was hosted by Adnan Ahmed Yousif, President & Chief Executive of Al Baraka Banking Group, at the Al Baraka Headquarters in Bahrain Bay. In his welcome note, Yousif said the board will serve rich insights on the geopolitical and economic developments to professionals for their development and growth.
Hisham Abdul Razzaq Al-Razzuqi, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Center, said the Centre aims to provide companies with the necessary tools to adapt to an increasingly complex and interdependent global economy. CEO of the Center, Dr. Mahdy Aljazzaf, said the Center is seeking to launch its activities in the Gulf to serve the economic cooperation and integration of the GCC countries, where the Kingdom of Bahrain is a pivotal starting point for its distinguished economic status, and will be followed by other countries that the Center plans to be present.
Dr Bart Van Ark, Executive Vice President and Chief Economist at The Conference Board, explained the various annual reports prepared by the Center, such as the Global Economic Prospects 2020: Gulf Region, and a global research report on “Productivity and Economic Diversification” and its first quarterly report, “Leading Economic Indicators for the Gulf Countries, Q3 2019”.
The Conference Board Gulf Center for Economics and Business Research is a non-profit organisation, headquartered in Kuwait and supported by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and the Union of Banks in Kuwait. The Conference Board, which started its activity in November 2018, is a research platform that provides authoritative insights into what awaits its members in the business environment.
