LuLu Hypermarket & The Avenues Launch the Bahraini Jumbo Loz Festival
Three-day festival celebrates Bahrain’s seasonal harvest of loz, figs and dates while supporting local farmers and homegrown brands
LuLu Hypermarket, in collaboration with The Avenues – Bahrain, has launched the Bahraini Jumbo Loz Festival, a three-day celebration of Bahrain’s seasonal harvest taking place from 13 to 15 August 2026.
The festival was officially inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Designed in the style of a vibrant farmers’ market, the festival brings together Bahraini farmers and homegrown brands. Open daily from 9:00 AM until midnight, it offers visitors locally grown loz, figs and fresh dates, alongside artisanal Bahraini products including honey, coffee, pickles and more.
At the heart of the festival is Bahrain’s much-loved jumbo loz, known for its generous size and distinctive flavour. Visitors can also explore a variety of local figs and dates, which hold a special place in the Kingdom’s agricultural heritage and cultural identity. Creative offerings such as freshly hand-churned loz ice cream and refreshing loz slushies add a unique flavour to the experience.
