Mumtalakat, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced another record financial year, reporting a consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of BHD 592.7 million for 2025, compared to BHD 316.5 million in 2024.

The Group said the strong performance reflected the successful implementation of its long-term strategy and the continued growth of its portfolio companies across multiple sectors.

Commenting on the results, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of Mumtalakat, said the Group’s strong performance highlights its role in supporting Bahrain’s comprehensive development goals.

He noted that the achievements align with the vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, with a continued focus on delivering sustainable financial returns, supporting economic development priorities and strengthening portfolio value through strategic investments.

Mumtalakat reported revenues of BHD 2.5 billion in 2025, up from BHD 2.2 billion in 2024. The increase was also supported by higher fair value gains related to McLaren Racing investments.

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) posted a net profit of BHD 218.7 million in 2025, compared to BHD 184.5 million the previous year, driven by stronger London Metal Exchange aluminium prices and a record production level of 1.62 million metric tonnes.

The Group’s principal associates, National Bank of Bahrain and Beyon, also delivered strong performances. Mumtalakat’s share of profits from NBB reached BHD 36.4 million, while its share from Beyon stood at BHD 24.8 million.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, said 2025 represented a major milestone in the Group’s long-term strategy, reflecting strong financial performance and operational progress across several initiatives.

Among the year’s major developments were the listing of Silah Gulf on the Bahrain Bourse, the launch of Amana Healthcare Bahrain in partnership with M42, and the announcement of Bahrain Food Holding Company’s Food Park project in partnership with Edamah.

The Group also highlighted several key achievements by portfolio companies during the year, including Alba becoming the first aluminium smelter globally to receive a 5-Star safety rating from the British Safety Council, Beyon launching a sovereign cloud region in Bahrain with Oracle, and the opening of Hawar Resort by Mantis.

Meanwhile, McLaren Racing secured a historic Formula One double by winning both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships for the first time since 1998.

Mumtalakat said the results reaffirm its role as a long-term contributor to Bahrain’s economy through a diversified portfolio focused on sustainable financial returns and national economic impact.
