Team Bahrain delivers: major infrastructure milestones in 2025

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects at Manama Municipality, highlighting Bahrain’s accelerated progress in infrastructure and development initiatives.

The session reviewed 2025 achievements across key sectors, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing services, efficiency, and sustainability under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.The Deputy Prime Minister praised the tangible results of infrastructure projects, noting the importance of teamwork under the Team Bahrain approach to ensure integrated planning, timely implementation, and adherence to technical standards.

The committee congratulated His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince on the New Year, expressing hopes for continued prosperity and further development across sectors.

Key highlights included:

• Al Dur Solar Power Plant: Foundation stone laid by the Electricity and Water Authority, advancing energy security, diversification, and the transition to clean energy.

• Busaiteen Bridge Project: Completed by the Ministry of Works, linking Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge with Road 105, enhancing traffic flow for up to 4,000 vehicles per hour and demonstrating efficient resource management.

• Bahrain International Airport: Earned a five-star rating from Skytrax for the fifth consecutive year, recognising high standards in services and facilities.

• Housing Projects : Strong collaboration between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the private sector has expanded housing options across governorates to meet citizens’ aspirations.

The meeting also reviewed progress in electricity and water, surveying and real estate registration, municipalities and agriculture, transportation and telecommunications, environment, works, and housing sectors. Additionally, regulatory procedures of the National Committee for Geospatial Information Governance (NCGIG) were discussed. Shaikh Khalid thanked ministers and work teams for their dedication and constructive cooperation, urging continued efforts to maintain the accelerated pace of infrastructure projects under the Government Programme 2023–2026.
