OAK Energy & Infrastructure develops USD 50 million solar project advancing Bahrain’s clean energy transition

OAK Energy & Infrastructure WLL announced a USD 50 million photovoltaic (PV) solar project during Gateway Gulf 2025, marking a major step in Bahrain’s clean energy transition. Backed by international partners and the UK Export Finance (UKEF), the project will generate over 150 GWh of renewable energy annually, powering facilities including Al Dana Amphitheatre, Bahrain International Circuit, and Exhibition World B ahrain.
Group CEO Gareth Brown said the initiative combines world-class engineering with long-term energy security for key national sites. Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB, said it highlights Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable investment and innovation.
Structured under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), the project supports Bahrain’s renewable energy roadmap and net-zero goals, positioning OAK as a key partner in delivering reliable, competitively priced clean power to strategic national facilities.
