As the much-anticipated Halloween celebration draws near, the demand for costumes has reached unprecedented levels in Bahrain.

Children and adults alike are eagerly preparing for the festivities, with school parties and house gatherings planned throughout the Kingdom.

To meet the soaring demand, stores specialising in costumes and accessories have been inundated with large orders.

The Daily Tribune reached out to several costume retailers to discover the latest trends and pricing details.

Waseem Muhammad, a digital marketing executive at House of Uniform located in Manama, shed light on the pricing structure, stating, “Costume prices vary depending on factors such as size and materials.

Our range caters to everyone, from babies to adults, and includes makeup, decorations, hats, wigs, and other accessories.”

Muhammad revealed that prices start at BD14.500 and can exceed BD30.

The store offers a wide variety of costumes, including popular choices such as orange witches, baby policemen, baby cats, little skeletons, bee girls, devil costumes, wolf cubs, baby Red Riding Hood, pumpkins, fairies, ladybirds, Spider-Man, vampires, princesses, balloon bunnies, car racers, astronauts, zombies, and many more.

Significant demand

Muhammad further emphasised that their costumes cater to children aged 0–6 months up to 11–12 years, which has contributed to the significant demand they are witnessing.

Mildrit Eldo Scaria, an authorised representative of Canolly Costume located in Hoora, shared insights into the adult costume market.

“This week, we are experiencing high demand for adult costumes, particularly among men,” Scaria stated.

“Most adults are looking for Joker, Hitler, Scream, Vampire, Doctor, and Pirate costumes. However, we also offer customization options for those who wish to add extra elements or accessories like masks or feather wings.”

Scaria added that they have been receiving orders from customers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, highlighting the widespread celebration of Halloween in various countries.

Superhero costumes

In terms of pricing, adult costumes at Canolly Costume start at BD20, while children’s costumes begin at BD10.

Scaria noted that superhero costumes such as Dead Pool and Superman are highly sought after by kids, along with perennial favourites like Pumpkin.

With Halloween just around the corner, it is clear that the demand for costumes is at an all-time high.

Retailers are working diligently to meet the needs and creative desires of their customers, offering a wide range of options for both children and adults.

As Halloween continues to gain popularity globally, the celebration transcends borders, uniting people through the joy of costumes and festivities.
