Four arrested, 435kg trawling-caught shrimps seized

The Coast Guard has seized 435kg of shrimps caught during the shrimping ban in two separate cases.
They confiscated a boat with four individuals on board at the Karana beach for catching105kg shrimps using banned bottom trawling nets, a method that destroys far more ocean habitat than any other fishing practice.
Bahrain has banned the use of bottom trawling nests as per Ministerial Resolution No. (205) of 2018.
Meanwhile, the Land Backup Patrols seized 330kg of shrimps from two vehicles in Karana and Karzakan. Legal proceedings were taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
