Municipal fees for 1973 Bahraini families reduced, exempted last year

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf said that the ministry had reduced, dropped and exempted municipal fees for 1973 Bahraini families during 2020.
The minister stressed that this decision came as an implementation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister’s directives and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s keenness to provide a decent life for all citizens.
He explained that the reduction of municipal fees came consistent with the needs of citizens, as well as exempting some people with limited income from paying future fees or cancelling their old debts.
Minister Khalaf assured the continuous coordination between Municipalities Affairs and the Consumer Affairs Services Department at the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to amend municipal fees for these families in their electricity bills.
