HM King’s speech to open fifth legislative term

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will today patronise the virtual opening session of the Shura and Representative Council’s third session of the fifth legislative term.
The Royal speech, amid the coronavirus pandemic, will be made via a video call. The session commences as per Royal Order No. (38) of 2020 inviting the Shura and Representative council members to convene.
The inaugural session will also witness the constitutional oath-taking ceremony of Sabah Salem Al-Dossary, a member of the Shura Council. He was appointed a member of the Council by a Royal decree.
Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, the speaker of the Council, will deliver a speech during the opening session before the first and second vice-presidents are elected. Members will also notify the speaker of their intentions to join various committees of the Council.
