Prosecution fines of up to 197,000 dinars for violating labor market regulations

MANAMA

Moaz Al-Hogail, the Prosecutor for the Public Prosecution of Ministries and Public Entities, stated that the Small Criminal Court issued rulings against 38 defendants in 35 cases on charges of keeping work permits without the need for them, employing workers without a permit, and supplying domestic workers without a permit, and the fines adjudicated against the defendants ranged between 1,000 And twenty-six thousand dinars, while the total of fines adjudicated in those cases reached 197,000 dinars.

The Public Prosecution Office had received several reports from the Labor Market Regulatory Authority about a number of persons extracting commercial records in order to obtain work permits, and after checking the shops on which the commercial records were extracted, it was found that they do not practice any commercial activity. The defendants were nevertheless able to obtain work permits and keep them without needing them, as well as other communications related to the supply of domestic workers without a permit, and the use of workers without a permit, and then the prosecution ordered that they be brought to criminal trial for what happened among them that constitute unjust crimes according to the law regulating the labor market.
