Bahrain all set for Farmer’s Market

Manama

It’s the season of farmers ahead as the fourth Bahraini Farmers Market, organized by the  agricultural center of the Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry, is just around the corner. Farmers once again get an opportunity to showcase their products in the best possible ways to attract customers.

This year, a number of upgradations have been made to its festive activities, including the Breakfast section, the Artist section, the Farm Animals section and an exclusive section for kids.

In the Artist section, visitors would be able to enjoy artists making sketches of nature, while in the Farm Animals section, visitors will be allowed to feed the animals, explained Bahraini Farmers Market Executive Manager Amani Abu Idris.

The kids section would consist of a number of learning activates and the children would be taught how to plant trees, he said.

"Registrations for farmers, which opened on Sunday will continue for a month. So far we have received 22 registrations for the event, which begins on Dec 5," he stated.

Idris confirmed Budaiya was the most sought area for the event, following a survey. During the survey, we were requested to provide more parking space and also to extend the duration of the event.

This season, the Market plans to bring in a more family-oriented feel and nature-related sentiments, as the event is also an opportunity to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers, he said.

The Bahrain Farmers Market has also started showing informative clips on Instagram on specific scientific and botanical names of each vegetable for all farmers and visitors to be aware of.
