Public schools to welcome 133,000 students on Sunday

Education Minister announces inauguration of three schools

 Public schools will receive over 133, 000 students on Sunday, education authorities in the Kingdom announced yesterday.

 With the reopening of schools, its time to improve the quality of education and the facilities provided to them, and Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi confirmed the Ministry has already started its efforts in this regard.

 Al Nuaimi said in a statement, the ministry had provided educational seats for over 133,000 students and transportation for about 24,000 students, including those with special needs, marking the new academic year. It has also printed over 2.5 million books for the students, according to the statement.

 The minister also announced that three schools - a primary intermediate girls' school in Wad-Al-Seil, an intermediate school for boys in Hamad Town and an intermediate school for girls in Buseiteen – will be inaugurated soon. They will add to the Kingdom's existing 207 schools, which would receive over 10,000 primary students. The minister, however, did not mention, the exact dates of inauguration.

 He added that comprehensive and partial maintenance works were implemented in schools to ensure a safe environment for students and to enhance their learning experience.

 He also highlighted the projects to be implemented this academic year. They include mainly the vocational guidance, the citizenship and human rights-promoting schools project to be implemented in four schools, the numerical strategy for first intermediate students, French language teaching and the digital empowerment project, to be applied in five schools.

 Al Nuaimi lauded the leadership's constant support to the ministry's development projects. He also paid tribute to the education staff for their dedication in enhancing the quality of the educational services.
