Premier stresses strict enforcement of law
PM reveals govt’s determination to take stringent measures to combat terror

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has reiterated the government’s strong resolve to take the necessary measures to combat acts of violence and terrorism.
“It is regrettable that some plots are staged against the kingdom by external sides, but we’ll do our utmost to protect the security of our nation and enforce the law firmly and vigorously,” he remarked while speaking in a meeting with a number of MPs and Shura members, led by the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh at Gudaibiya Palace here yesterday.
“What’s going on will make us stronger, cement our national cohesion and increase our determination to carry on the national development and progress march,” he added.
In the meeting, Prince Khalifa lauded the level of the on-going cooperation between the executive and legislative branches regarding citizen-oriented issues.
“What brings us together is our love for this nation, and work to achieve the aspiration of our citizens. Serving citizens is our first and foremost goal,” he stressed.
HRH Premier asserted that the cabinet had adopted a strategy to achieve food security for the citizens through supporting local food products and enhancing investment with friendly countries.
Highlighting the cabinet’s interest in the affairs of citizens, he said that the cabinet was also keen on harnessing all its potentials to ensure that citizens receive the best services.
Reflecting on people’s solidarity and stances against terrorism, he said that it would remain a source of power in confronting the evil elements, who are displeased by Bahrain’s welfare, security and stability. “Bahrain will continue its war on terror. The perpetrators, who carried out the terror acts, will receive the punishment they deserve.”
HRH Premier pointed out that the challenges and threats currently facing the region required countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to take more measures and unify their stances.
