BATC mulls enhancing Asian businesses

The Bahrain Asian Traders Committee (BATC) of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held its regular meeting at the Chamber’s headquarters presided over by Vice-Treasurer and committee head Mohammed Sajid Izharulhaq.The committee also endorsed meeting as many as 20 Asian business owners over a business lunch to be held on a monthly basis, wherein direct feedback and proposals can be discussed, and insight of issues concerning Asian Traders can be obtained.  The committee also discussed updates regarding the conference it plans to hold in January entitled “Gateway to the Arabian Gulf”, in addition to expanding its network of Commercial Attaches from Asian embassies in Bahrain.The committee vowed to follow up the proposals raised to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, including permitting Asians to expand their businesses by opening branches, eliminating the restraint on Asians to invest in certain business activities such as the construction and car rental, and mulling the prospect of issuing a privilege card to Asian business owners.
