12 years in the making, the Crown Prince Centre for Training & Medical Research was established in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force Royal Medical Services. Speaking to Tribune, Lt Col (Dr) Nayef A.Rahman LouriConsultant, Head of Continuous Medical Education and Chief Coordinator at the Crown Prince Centre for Training & Medical Research, revealed the vision of the establishment.

“This centre took five years to build and it is the vision of Major General Prof Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa, Director of Royal Medical Service, to establish the centre for the training of the undergraduate as well as postgraduates,” he said. “It is a very sophisticated centre which is around 6000 square meters. Equipped with facilities to train health service providers from doctors, nurses and paramedics to those dealing with trauma and military medicine as well.

It has cutting edge technology which will help health service providers to improve the quality of healthcare,” he added. The centre was inspired by the belief that human resource developmental training is the cornerstone for a successful medical institution and is therefore equipped with Simulation-Based Education.
