Bahrain is preparing for new traffic updates
M. Kazem Abdul latif, Director of Road Planning and Design Department at the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, said that the ministry will coordinate with the General Directorate of Traffic to develop the system of traffic light signals on the roads of the Kingdom by adding the green light flashing. Traffic light signals before moving from green light to red light will flash for 3 seconds. The system will be launched by today, 8 February 2019.
He added that the aim of the development of the signal system is to give sufficient time to warn and prepare the drivers of vehicles for safe stop before the appearance of red, which enhances traffic safety and reduces the proportion of accidents.
As a first step, the new system will be tested at the intersection of Al Fateh highway with Shaikh Dauij Avenue (in the capital governorate) and the intersection of Wali Al-Ahad road and the military hospital entrance (in the southern governorate).
