Four charged after man dies of heroin overdose
Four Bahrainis including three men and a woman were charged in connection with the death of a man who lost his life allegedly after a drug overdose.
The accused along with the victim is said to have been consuming drugs at an apartment in Juffair. In the midst of a drug party, the victim collapsed after consuming excess heroin, according to court documents. “Investigations revealed that the victim was taking part in drugs party with four others including a 32-year-old Bahraini woman.” The accused fled the apartment after realising that their friend had died.
They also failed to report the incident to the police out of fear that they would be charged in the case, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors said that the group was using the same needle to inject drugs while the victim’s mobile phone was with the woman after his death. “He gave me the phone before his death,” the woman told prosecutors, confessing to being a member of the group which hosted the drugs party.
According to court files, one accused has already fled the Kingdom while two others are still at large.
