Light and sound; the intangible elements of architecture
The Summer Architecture School (SAS) focuses on the interface of sound and light within architecture.
The programme is organised by Mawane that is co-founded by Suha Hasan and the organizing team includes Khushboo Shah, Narjes Bukannan, Nada Alaradi and Isa Ebrahim.
The workshop brings three tutors from the University of Applied Science in Berlin who are Thomas Noller, Stephan Günzel and Basel Naouri in addition to Waleed Fakousa, a professional lighting designer from the Lighting Institute in Dubai.
The event is hosted at one of Shaikh Ebrahim Center’s venues; a charming, historical house in the center of Manama, Khalaf House.
The program is supported by Tamkeen, who are the strategic partners in the Summer Architecture School. Furthermore, the program is supported by the American Institute of Architects Middle East Chapter (AIA ME) and the Royal Institute of Architects Gulf Chapter (RIBA Gulf ) who are knowledge partners.
