Bahraini man jailed for illegal possession of gun
Manama : The Fourth High Criminal Court yesterday sentenced a Bahraini man to three months imprisonment and BD500 for illegally possessing a firearm.
According to court files, the defendant was arrested in the Capital Governorate on September 27, 2017 in a case related to drugs abuse.
During the arrest, the defendant’s car was searched by the police and an air gun was found hidden under the seat, along with 9 bullets.
He told the interrogators that the weapon belonged to a friend who is travelling abroad and that he was keeping it in his possession until the alleged friend returns.
Forensic examination confirmed that the weapon and the bullets is usable. The court ordered the confiscation of the weapon and the bullets.
