British Women Army football team visits Bahrain

Manama : The British Women Army Football team will kick-start its two-day visit to  Bahrain today as part of a regional tour that includes Kuwait, and the UAE to highlight the power of the great sporting links and the friendships that the UK and the Gulf share.

The team will play a match with the Bahraini National Women’s Football team that will take place at the Bahrain Football Associations training complex in Isa Town tomorrow. 

The team will also conduct a series of community outreach events, including coaching sessions at schools and sports academies during their time in Bahrain to raise awareness of the benefits of sport and promote positive opportunities for women in sports related
activities.

The British Embassy will hold a press facility that will take place today at the Bahrain Football headquarter in Isa Town.

The visit will highlight the strong bilateral relations between the two countries through sport.

It also expresses the UK commitment to encourage women’s participation in sport as well as helping to promote fitness, wellbeing and sports for local girls through these inspirational examples.
