Increase age limit for personal loans: Bahrain MP
Manama : A Bahraini MP has called for increasing the age limit for personal loans to empower senior citizens who are in need of financial support from banks.
Independent MP Isa Turki said that commercial banks were rejecting loan applications of senior citizens who have crossed 65 with complaints increasing day-by-day.
The legislator called for granting senior citizens financial services, considering the increased life expenses, services and fees.
Turki demanded an immediate intervention to facilitate loans for citizens above 65 years who apply for personal loans from commercial banks, adding that this would serve them greater good.
The MP’s demands will be discussed during the approaching legislative session.
