Bahrain truck driver arrested for reckless driving
Manama : A reckless truck driver was arrested yesterday after a citizen shared a video online showing the truck driven at high speed on one of the kingdom's highways.
As shown in the video, the truck driver was allegedly travelling at the speed of 120kmh and randomly changing lanes. The General Directorate of Traffic confirmed the arrest saying, ''A truck driver was arrested for violating the traffic rules and speed limit of the road after a video of his reckless driving was circulated on social media.''
However the directorate's statement did not clarify more on the identity or the fate of the driver.
According to the traffic law, he could face prison time and fines, if found guilty of passing 30 percent of the speed limit of the road.
