Manama“Martial Arts is a vehicle for developing your human potential.” This quotation by American standup comedian, Joe Rogan is apt to describe not just the unique quality of the sport, but also the attitude one forms out of their involvement in the field of sports. Brave Combat Federation which is the largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion (MMA), whose seeds of inception was laid down by Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is travelling miles in exhibiting the greatness and educating the world about the sport. Brave 7: Untamed is the first step of introduction as well as promotion of Mixed Martial Arts which took place on the soil of Mexico, on the July 29

In every sport, where failure and victory play an important role, the taste of either coin brings one face to face with their skills and attitudes. Televising the success of the athlete in 84 countries with a huge viewership is nothing but a blessing, not just for the sport but also for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Athletes from 5 different nations have nailed it hard which has not just resulted in giving prominence to the sport but also has exhibited the never say die attitude of the players. Debuting in Mixed Martial Arts, Hassan Fakhreddine, from Lebanon tasted his first victory in the second round. Alejandro Martinez, stormed towards success where he won over veteran Paulo Silva from Brazil, whose strokes forced his opponent to submit.

The exhibition of the talent in the soil of Middle East by the athletes proved to be an additional stroke of advantage for the Federation as the showcase of the abilities of the athletes gave a new dimension to the Island. “The initiative was also successful in providing opportunity for athletes from Middle East to showcase their abilities on a global platform,” says Mohammed Shahid, President of Brave Combat Federation.

But, there is still a long way where the sport needs to be introduced in different parts of the world. On 12th August, two championship titles will be hosted in Brazil, where Timo Feucht from Germany will face Klidson Abreu from Brazil for the Light Heavyweight Championship, while Mohammad Fakhreddine from Lebanon will face Carl Booth from the United Kingdom for the Welterweight Championship. Till then, Mixed Martial Arts continues to strive towards making Bahrain a sport friendly country and giving Mixed Martial Arts global attention.
