Teachers terminated await for their salaries

ManamaTeachers of Al Majd Private School have alleged that the school management is refusing to pay their pending salaries after being terminated without notice. According to the teachers, the school was served a notice by the Ministry of Education for not functioning as per Ministry Standards, which resulted in the termination of the staff.

“When the school was served a notice by the Ministry of Education, the school management terminated all the staff in the last week of June 2017. More than 30 teachers were terminated and all of us are still awaiting our pending salaries,” one of the teachers told DT News.

“We called the HR so many times and we approached the school several times. They keep stalling us and now it’s been more than a month and they still haven’t cleared the pending salaries,” said a staffer.

“We took the matter to the Ministry of Education, and they told us that they couldn’t help us in this matter as we were not legally under the schools work visa.” Another teacher said.

DT News did contact the HR of the School but the HR did not respond.
