Students invited to share ideas to cut traffic crime

ManamaThe General Directorate of Traffic has invited university students to share ideas to reduce traffic offences in Bahrain.

Speaking in an interview aired on the national radio yesterday, Traffic Culture Director Lieutenant Colonel Osama Bahar said: “We have ideas and we would like the public to share their ideas too”.

The official said while speaking about traffic offences in the Kingdom, “At the General Directorate of Traffic, we don’t want an increased number of offences. We look forward to reduce it.”

“Engineering students and professors in the University of Bahrain and other private universities are welcomed to share any ideas and studies that may contribute to reducing the number of traffic violations in Bahrain. This also applies to media students and professors, as they could benefit the awareness side,” the Lt. Col. said.

He explained that reaching the directorate could be simply done by contacting the official page on Instagram of the directorate’s awareness campaign “Rethink”.

Bahar added, “They could easily send a direct message to the page with their contact numbers and the ideas they have. The directorate would get back to them and we would meet them and provide them with all the information needed, such as figures and statistics, and areas where violations are reported the most. Let’s put our hands together.”
