Futsal league: Draw held, approved by Shaikh Khalid

ManamaThe draw has been made and approved on Monday by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, for the fifth edition of the Khalid Bin Hamad for Youth Centres, starting on 24 July and concluding on 23 August, to include and approve those clubs that are not under the Bahrain Football Association in this edition of the league. 

The League is part of Shaikh Khalid’s sporting and humanitarian initiatives under the slogan “#Meeting_of_Generations” and will be organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in collaboration with HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Centre. 

This year, the competition includes a league for people with disabilities for the second consecutive year and a league for girls for the first time.

Shaikh Khalid stressed on the importance of allowing clubs and girls to participate in this league. Shaikh Khalid said that the league’s fifth edition coincides with the vision of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chaired by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, and the necessity in activating the role of the youth centres since it is considered to foster Bahraini youths.

The tournament features the participation of 36 youth centres from different governorates.

Dr. Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, the ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Affairs and Facilities, Omar A.Aziz Bukamal, Director of Shaikh Khalid’s Media Office and Nawar Abdullah Al Mutawa, Director of Youth Centres and Facilities at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, a number of the Ministry and Sport Associations officials, guests and other officials were present.
