Alba delegation meets APAC customers

Manama

An official delegation from Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) visited some of its key customers in Asia-Pacific region recently. The delegation comprised of Alba Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray, along with Acting Chief Marketing Officer Khalid A Latif, Asia-Pacific Sales Manager Yogesh Kumar and Hong Kong Sales Officer Enoch Kwok.

The visit aimed to improve customer satisfaction, give more insights on Line 6 Expansion Project as well as expand Alba’s customer base.

In addition, Alba took part in Aluminium China 2015 from 8-10 July 2015 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in China. Held every year, this conference is considered as one of Asia’s top trading, sourcing and networking platform for the full aluminium industry chain.

“Alba is keen to enhance its presence in the global aluminium market and one of the key regions is Asia and Pacific,” said Alba CEO Tim Murray.

Last month, Alba announced the appointment of J.P. Morgan, Gulf International Bank (GIB) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) as its financial advisors for its Line 6 Expansion Project. Actual construction of Alba’s Line 6 is estimated to commence in 2016 upon the completion of final engineering designs, selection of project EPCM for Line 6 and EPC for the Power Station 5.

Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij, then said, “We are excited to move ahead with the Line 6 Expansion Project, which comes after a decade since the last expansion (Line 5) in 2005. Bahrain has a strong and reputed banking industry in the Middle East Region, and as a leading Bahraini company, we are proud to partner with some of the leading institutions for the Line 6 Expansion Project.”

CEO Murray had weighed in then, “Line 6 Expansion Project builds upon Alba’s organic growth, which upon completion, will present many opportunities for both Alba and Bahrain.”
