Tribute paid to late journalist

ManamaInformation Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi has expressed deep condolences to the media community in Bahrain on the death of journalist Ahmed Salman Kamal (87) who passed away yesterday after a long career.

“With the death of Ahmed Salman Kamal, GCC and Arab media has lost one of its icons, a radio pioneer, an intellectual and a literary personality who inspired many journalists and media persons,” the minister said, adding that he was a role model for patriotism.

Al-Romaihi said that the Information Affairs Ministry is proud of the contributions of Kamal and his professionalism.

Al-Romaihi pointed out that the Ministry of Information Affairs had documented the contributions of Kamal in one of its publications in which the writer Dr. Mansoor Mohammed Sarhan said his articles which displayed objectivity, honesty, sincerity, in addition to his advocacy of joint GCC and Arab action.
