Bahrain Athletics Association to reveal 2017 plans

Manama : Bahrain Athletics Association’s initiatives for the year 2017 will be revealed during a press conference on 17 May 2017 at the Regency Hotel, Riffa Hall at 4.30pm. 

The move follows the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association. The event will be organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid.

Shaikh Khalid said, “Our aim is to launch our initiatives for the year 2017 in the belief that we will continue our efforts to create an atmosphere that will inspire the Bahraini youth to practice their hobbies and unleash their energies and creativity, in order to improve their potential.”

The conference comes after the adoption of sports, cultural and scientific initiatives, in addition to humanitarian, which includes the establishment of the fifth edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centres and the People with Disabilities Futsal League, the third edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Award for National Clubs, Youth Centre and People with Disabilities and the Bahrain World Mind Games Championship.

“These initiatives will continue to diversify support for the two fields, with emphasis on the participation of my brothers and sisters with disabilities in all activities of these initiatives, as we consider them to be an important part of this community,” said Shaikh Khalid. 

He added, “Through these initiatives, we look forward to achieving the goals we have set which are in line with the directives of the wise leadership in taking care and supporting the youth in all categories and showcasing their capabilities to help them develop, contributing to the emergence of talent and excellence, which serves the development of various sectors.”
