BOC Exercise Programme to resume today

Manama : A multi-event Exercise Programme is set to resume today at six locations across Bahrain with a set of activities planned.

The programme from 4pm to 6pm will have training instructors available at all locations to guide the participants in training sessions.

The event locations include Dohat Arad walkway in Muharraq, Al Fateh Corniche in Manama, Al Istiqlal Walkway in Sanad, Grand Khalifa Park in Riffa, Budaiya Walkway and A’ali Walkway.

This first-of-its-kind initiative is organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and is part of its annual plan to offer a string of sporting and social activities for the public.

These activities are in compliance to the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and BOC President.

The main objective is to involve all segments of Bahrain society in various sports activities and spread the concept of adopting a healthy lifestyle among the community.

Salha Al Rumaihi, one of 13 trainers assigned to run the programme, said after nearly four months since its inaugurated, the programme has achieved tremendous success with significant number of citizens and residents taking part in these exercises.

She said that an account on Instagram – exercise together.bh – was created to promote this initiative and allow more interaction among members of the society.

The remaining trainers are Bader Sultan, Awatef Al Nejdi, Fatma Al Burshaid, Ali Yousef, Ammar Al Kuwari, Mohammed Naji, Rashid Slais, Mohammed Bakhsh, Layla Al Ali, Fadi Humaidan, Mohammed Al Sharqawi and Murtada Karashi.

This programme was initially inaugurated last February by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar at Muharraq’s Dohat Arad walkway.
