EXPO LINKS PLAYERS OF HOSPITALITY SECTOR

The three-day Food and Hospitality Expo, inaugurated on Tuesday, has been successful in attracting a wide range of people from the hospitality sector. The expo provided a platform for hoteliers, food products sellers as well as hotel and catering equipment sellers.

Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani during the inauguration of the expo stated that his ministry would continue to promote the Kingdom as a hub of exhibitions and conferences with the existing facilities. “In the future, we will expand the sector with much bigger facilities so that we can attract conventions of international standards,” the minister said.

Positive response

Eat online restaurant reservations has been introducing a new concept at the expo. Currently, the firm has been connecting customers and hotels through its web application. It helps customers discover restaurants of their choice and make reservations. The expo has given an opportunity to meet potential customers and strengthen relations with present clients, said Zain Al Khalifa of Eat.

Chief Communications Officer of Eat, Tahani Abbas added the expo gave more exposure to their firm. The event would give a major boost to their unique concept, she said.

Jamal Hyder, Assistant Sales Manager of Jufralo General Trading, came all away from Dubai to represent his company. He is highly impressed by the hospitality and cooperation of Bahrainis. “I really liked the friendly nature of Bahrainis,” Jamal said, adding they had been successful in finding new customers through the expo.

The Thai stall stole the show on the second day also. Their traditional dishes such as Pad Thai, papaya salad, sticky rice with mango etc were a major hit among the visitors. The stall remained busy throughout the day, serving authentic Thai flavour.

Tahera, Economic Assistant of Japan Embassy stated she never expected such an overwhelming response for Japanese food products. “Many visitors, who tasted our food products, asked for the outlets where these products were available. Rice crackers made in Japan is among the favourites dishes,” she said.

Aromatic vinegars available in different flavours received good response from visitors, stated Antonio Capelli of Italian stall. A lot of people were also interested to know more about the places to visit in Italy, he added. The event concludes today.
