Bahrain to face Saudi in Davis Cup
Manama : Bahrain is set to open its Davis Cup campaign today at 10am against Saudi Arabia (111th) in Pool A of the Asia/Oceania Group IV on the hard courts of the Bahrain Tennis Federation Courts at the University of Bahrain campus in Isa Town.
In the other match in the pool, Cambodia (101) take on Myanmar (120) at the same time, while Kyrgyzstan (124) received a bye.
Pool B is made up of Iraq (106), Singapore (107), Bangladesh (112), Oman (122), Tajikistan (123) and Mongolia (126), with all these teams also in action at the same time.
The 11 teams will play round-robin in their respective groups with the promotion places decided by the winners of a play-off match between the Pool A winners and Pool B runners-up and the Pool B winners against Pool A runners-up to Group III.
Bahrain’s team are coached by Davis Cup veteran Essam Abdul A’al.
