OUT OF TIME, A GROUP EXHIBITION

Date: The opening today from 7:00 – 9:00pm

Venue: Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya

Bahrain-based Egyptian artist Jehan Saleh and Moroccan artist Abdellah Ahddaf have announced their group exhibition Out of Time as a part of the 2017 Spring of Culture. The exhibition that features the works of 20 Spanish and Middle-Eastern artists will be held under the patronage of Director of Culture and Arts Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa at Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya on Tuesday, 7th of March, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm.Artist and curator Saleh, an active member of Bahrain Contemporary Art Society spent a week of solitude in Sant Pere de Reudebitles while attending the Art Biennale by the same name. It is here that she was stimulated to create a similar art scene in Bahrain. Inspired by the idea, Saleh and Ahddaf approached artists to make five pieces each for Out of Time. So, the group show is a visual testament to what artists can accomplish when they take time off from their hectic day-day schedules and worldly matters. The result is a stunning display of creativity in a vast range of styles and media, brought together by a common theme, and unified by the use of square sheets of handmade paper from Sant Pere de Riudetiblles as a physical point of departure on which to execute their art. The 24-month project has transformed into an exhibition featuring 100 works by Abdellah Ahaddaf, Ahmed Anan, Aura Gumà, David Ribas, Faika Al Hassan, Georg Massanés, Hussien Al Mohasen, Jaffar Al Oraibi, Jaume Amigó, Jehan Saleh, Keiju Kawashima, Ko Aarts, Lobna Al Amin, Miquel Sabaté, Mohammed Omar Khalil, Monia Touiss, Nabeela Al Khayer, Nader Al Abassi, Vicky Benitez, and Zuhair Al Saeed. Out of Time continues at the Albareh Art Gallery until 30th of March 2017.
