MOF Training Plan-2017 issue released

ManamaThe Ministry of Finance (MOF) has released its Training Plan 2017, comprising a wide range of training programmes and workshops in financial and legal affairs and accounting.

According to Aref S. Khamis, MOF Undersecretary, priority in the plan is given to topics related to budget preparation, ensuring that the budget of each ministry and public entity is consistent with its strategic objectives. Another area of concern is information security and the pressing need to provide absolute protection to financial data, regardless of the degree of confidentiality.

Further training events will be jointly organised by the ministry and the Arab Monetary Fund, said the Undersecretary. A workshop on the “Public Sector Debt Statistics” was organised by the two parties in September 2016 and gathered participants from ministries of finance and central banks in 14 Arab countries.

He also highlighted the crucial role of innovative training functions in improving the skills and expertise of civil servants specialised in finance and accounting, hoping that the new plan will strengthen MOF’s role as a centre for knowledge in this domain.
