Police looking for eight more wanted
Manama : The Interior Ministry has clarified that the police are currently searching for 8 more wanted suspects. Ali Mohamed Ali Mohamed Hakeem Al Arab, 23, who was arrested yesterday, is considered the main suspect in the shooting of First Lt. Hisham Al Hammadi.
Al Hammadi was shot dead in Bilad Al Qadeem on January 28. A terrorist group, backed by Iran and known as Al Ashtar Brigades claimed responsibility of the attack, stating that it’s to avenge the death of three cop killers who were executed on January 15.
DT News reported earlier that the terrorist group, which surfaced by mid 2013, is responsible for multiple deadly terrorist attacks that killed and injured many policemen and civilians in the past few years. Ahmed Mohamed Saleh Al Shaikh, 26, who was arrested yesterday is a convicted terrorist who escaped from Jau Prison. He was serving a 73-year prison sentence.
The armed attack on the Jau reform and rehabilitation centre which happened on January 1 resulted in the death of policeman Abdul Salam Saif and the escape of a number of inmates convicted of terrorist crimes.
