All-new 2017 Subaru Impreza set to impress!

ManamaThe all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza was unveiled for car lovers in the Kingdom by Motorcity, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Bahrain.

On the sidelines of the two-day Subaru Annual Middle East and Africa (MEA) Distributors meeting, held at Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, Subaru Impreza debuted several first-of-its-kind features, including the Subaru Global Platform architecture designed to deliver significantly higher levels of driving agility, increased protection against crashes, and added levels of ride comfort. The technology will be the underpinning platform in a variety of upcoming Subaru vehicles.

The car also debuted Subaru’s new design language, which incorporates the brand’s signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights into a more sculptural body, with an increase in body structure rigidity of over 70 percent, and a 40 pc improvement in crash energy absorption than the previous model.

The Impreza 2.0i and 2.0i Sport are available as 4-door sedans, with a revised version of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine that now gains from direct fuel injection and other performance boosting enhancements, to generate 152 horsepower compared to its previous output of 148.

A lower centre of gravity and revised suspension systems contribute to the biggest-ever leap in Subaru’s performance evolution and also to greater hazard-avoidance capability.

The car also features a new four-way tire Pressure Monitoring System can detect pressure drops at individual wheels.

The Impreza Sport features 17-inch alloy wheels, sport suspension and Active Torque Vectoring, exclusive exterior styling and upgrades such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, keyless access, push-button start, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and many other features.

Motorcity and Bahrain were selected to host the annual conference this year, which was attended by more than 60 participants from the MEA region, including the manufacturer’s senior management from Japan.

“Subaru has developed a very loyal customer base in Bahrain. This is the reflection of our continuous efforts to provide one of the best products with the highest customer service and satisfaction,” said Motorcity Senior General Manager, Bijan Majidi.
