Shaikh Nasser hailed for Triathlon win
Manama : Bahrain National Triathlon Team was congratulated for winning the first leg of the Triple Crown Ironman Championship in Dubai.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, was congratulated for winning first place (4:15:38) amongst GCC participants and fifth overall in the age 30-34 years category.
Shaikh Nasser’s performance enabled him to be recognised as the fastest Gulf national and setting a new record. These remarkable results helped the team led by Shaikh Nasser to qualify for the World Championship to be held in Barcelona this September.
Bahrain Endurance 13 Team athletes Javier Gomez (three hours 42 minutes 21 seconds) and Daniela Ryf (4:01:40) won the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated the team
and Shaikh Nasser on the achievement.
